Back in the day Glendalough was the homestead on a 100 acre dairy farm. Today there is a little less land that surrounds the homestead that still stands within a private garden in Moss Vale. Restored and transformed into a fabulous country residence, Glendalough predates Moss Vale township and was built in 1860.
The tin roof is brushed with rust that truly shows the age of this beauty, the sandstone and timber floors are soften with Persian rugs and the ceilings soar to magnificent heights which are a reminder of times past. The chandeliers hang elegantly in what could have been the ballroom. There is an adjoining self contained apartment which is accessed through the hallway in the house and is perfect additional accommodation.
Wander outside to the secret garden with raised vegetable beds, a chook pen adjoins this area where fresh eggs can be collected for breakfast. The deep veranda wraps the homestead and there are lovely places to sit and enjoy afternoon tea. Visit The Orangery, toast marshmallows in the firepit or sit out around the fountain and cook your own pizza in the authentic pizza oven.
